Responsibilities
- This newly created position of Management Accountant will report directly to the Managing Director. In the role you will be an integral part of the UK Senior Management team and you will be expected to develop a close working relationship with finance teams in associate companies overseas. Key responsibilities will include:
- Compilation and review of income and expenditure to prepare the monthly management reporting pack.
- Monthly VAT Accounting and VAT returns
- Payroll
- Preparation and review of strategic and single year budgets, periodic reviews and forecasts
- Calculation and analysis of monthly variances for actual / forecast, versus previous forecast, annual budget and previous year
- Manage fixed assets register maintenance (disposals, additions & impairment analysis)
- Responsible for overseeing stock control in the company, working with the purchasing and operations teams to ensure optimum stockholding, reviewing and reporting stock adjustments. Accounting for stock at month end.
- Support of management decision-making, through provision of relevant, targeted information, analysis and advice
- Ensure financial procedures and processes are followed strictly in order to safeguard the company results and financial assets
- Assisting with Financial Year End and Annual Audit
Requirements
- Part / Fully qualified ACCA, ACA or CIMA
- Use of APIs and online data sources
- A working knowledge of Pegasus Opera 3 SQL SE is advantageous
- The role will suit an ambitious graduate with 2-3 years of experience working within a commercial organisation, possibly with time spent working abroad.
- Will have a “can do” approach with a strong desire to develop personal skills and experience whilst taking full ownership of own role and objectives.
- Must be able to negotiate and influence, maintaining a strong working relationship with colleagues and business contacts.
- A team player with a “hands on, sleeves up” approach to getting the job done.
