Responsibilities
  • This position of Purchasing Manager will report directly to the Managing Director. In the role you will be an integral part of the Senior Management team and you will be expected to develop a close working relationship with suppliers and contractors in the UK and overseas. Occasional foreign travel is likely. Key responsibilities will include:
  • Leading effective supplier engagement and competitive sourcing activities. Negotiating pricing and terms, embedding cost effective practices.
  • Proactively developing strategies to minimise supply chain disruption risk
  • Working with Group purchasing to maximize savings on commonly sourced products
  • Ensuring ERP systems are accurate
  • Analysing and managing CAPEX expenditure
  • Working closely with finance and operations to prepare the monthly management reporting pack.
  • Working closely with Operations to maintaining effective stock levels of packaging, raw materials and finished goods. Accounting for stock at month end.
  • Supporting management decision-making, through provision of relevant, targeted information, analysis and advice
  • Ensuring purchase and procurement procedures are followed strictly in order to safeguard the company results and financial assets
  • Assisting with Financial Year End and Annual Audit
Requirements
  • Relevant undergraduate degree, preferably with a good understanding or knowledge of automotive or engineering components supply chain
  • A working knowledge of Pegasus Opera 3 SQL SE is advantageous
  • The role will suit an ambitious business minded graduate with 3+ years of experience working within a commercial organisation, possibly with industrial placement working abroad.
  • Will have a “can do” approach with a strong desire to develop personal skills and experience whilst taking full ownership of own role and objectives.
  • Must be able to negotiate and influence, maintaining a strong working relationship with colleagues and business contacts.
  • A team player with a “hands on, sleeves up” approach to getting the job done.
